Job summary

Moffitt is seeking a Security Systems Engineer III to design and maintain security controls for systems, including infrastructure and web app firewalls. You will lead technology security reviews, deploy controls, and help craft enterprise security policies.

This role also builds a SIEM/log solution and contributes to XDR initiatives across multiple cloud environments. The ideal candidate has deep Palo Alto firewall expertise, strong networking knowledge, and hands-on experience with security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 7+ years in an IT support or related environment, or 9+ years with an associate’s degree option.
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewall platforms and security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Performs installation and configuration management of security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances and host-based security systems.
• Designs infrastructure and web application firewalls, including physical and virtual firewalls.
• Leads security reviews and assessments and deploys security controls across cloud platforms.
• Creates and engineers organizational SIEM and log solutions and delivers XDR across the organization.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to improve network, system and application architectures.
• Documents architectures and diagrams for governance and audits.

Also works with Cyber Security on any issues or challenges Credentials and Education: • Bachelor’s degree – field of study: Computer Science or Information Systems • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an IT support environment -OR- An Associate’s degree with an additional two (2) years of relevant technology experience (for a total of 9 years) may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree -OR- \\*A High School diploma with an additional four (4) years of relevant technology experience (for a total of 11 years) may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree Experience and demonstrated proficiency to the following:• Strong knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewall platforms and security technologies• Palo Alto Networks firewall administration and management• Enterprise firewall policy administration and rule management• Experience creating, modifying, analyzing, and troubleshooting firewall security policies• TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting• Working knowledge of Visio, Wireshark, Splunk, PowerShell
