Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a SYSDEV Engineer II to join the Hardware Development Engineering team.

You will bridge hardware, firmware, and software across the security ecosystem, driving system-level integration for embedded devices used in AWS data centers. You will design and validate firmware, define network connectivity, and contribute to testing and qualification of secure hardware platforms, collaborating with firmware, networking, and server teams to ensure

Qualifications

Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
Experience with Linux/Unix.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities in networking.

Responsibilities

Architect and maintain integration of physical security hardware within firmware, network, and server layers.
Define system-level interfaces and data flows between devices, management servers, and cloud platforms.
Collaborate with security operations and infrastructure teams to ensure end-to-end security workflows across data centers.
Document system architecture, integration guides, and release notes; enforce engineering standards for firmware, network, and testing.
Partner with Hardware Development Engineers to account for firmware, network, and server integration from the earliest design stages.
