Job summary

Kenny Electric is seeking a Security Systems Design Engineer to design and integrate electronic security systems for commercial projects in Denver. You will develop architectures, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation while coordinating with electrical, IT, and architectural teams.

You will review drawings, perform site surveys, select equipment, and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 1 year of prior experience in construction management project support or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field
• Proficient in MS Office and Bluebeam
• Proficient with construction accounting system
• Possesses strong organizational skills and be able to plan and coordinate on multiple projects
• Effectively communicates both verbally and through written format
• Demonstrates ability to maintain rapport with customers, vendors and employees

Responsibilities

• Design integrated electronic security systems based on customer requirements, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Develop system architectures, block diagrams, floor plans, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and detailed design documentation.
• Review architectural drawings, construction documents, site surveys, and existing system documentation to develop accurate system designs.
• Perform site surveys and gather technical information required for system design and implementation.
• Coordinate designs with electrical, network, IT, architectural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, customer requirements, and company engineering practices.
• Assist project managers and field teams with technical questions, installation issues, system configuration, and commissioning.
• Review contractor and vendor submittals for technical accuracy and compliance with design requirements.
