Job summary

Kenny Electric is seeking a Security Systems Design Engineer to lead concept and design of electrical security systems. You will work with BAS leadership and field teams to ensure customer security specs are met and systems are implemented.

Responsibilities include designing security solutions, creating diagrams and BOMs, coordinating with electrical, IT, and architectural disciplines, and supporting project teams through commissioning and reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is preferred.
• Experience in construction management project support is advantageous.
• Proficient with MS Office and Bluebeam; strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design integrated electronic security systems based on customer requirements, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Develop system architectures, block diagrams, floor plans, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and detailed design documentation.
• Design solutions incorporating access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom systems, and visitor management.
• Review drawings, site surveys, and documentation to develop accurate system designs.
• Perform site surveys and gather information for system design and implementation.
• Select equipment and software based on project requirements; develop BOMs and schedules.
• Prepare technical specifications, submittals, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate designs with electrical, network, IT, architectural, and other teams.
• Assist project managers and field teams with technical questions and commissioning.
• Review submittals for accuracy and compliance; participate in project meetings.
• Troubleshoot design and integration issues; develop practical technical solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of security technologies and industry best practices.
