Job summary

Siemens is recruiting a Security System Technician for our Lenexa, KS location serving the greater Kansas City area. You will install, program, start-up, and commission integrated security systems including CCTV/IP cameras, alarm sensors, access control, and software platforms, acting as the face of Siemens to customers.

You will plan work with mentors, assist with commissioning and testing, document details, and ensure on-time completion, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Electro-mechanical experience and basic PC/software skills.
• Understanding of network components and workstation/server OS management.
• Able to work in varied environments around mechanical equipment and in ducts/at heights; able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Must be 18+ with a valid driver's license and eligible for Siemens fleet vehicle program.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commissioning of new security systems on customer sites, documenting commissioning details.
• Assist with testing and inspecting existing security systems.
• Plan work with a mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader.
• Complete commissioning within planned timelines.
• Submit accurate time and expense logs.
• Work overtime when needed.

Security System Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the‑art integrated security systems, including cctv or ip cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. Our Security System Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

As aSecurity System Technician, you will:

Basic Qualifications:

• Electro-mechanicalexperience(either fromapreviousrole or througheducation) and user PC/software skill
• Must be able todemonstratean understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management
• Must bewillingandable to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high‑lift equipment,working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 poundsunassisted
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED;Associatedegree in electronics or related field preferred
• 6+monthsexperience in the installation and/or maintenance of large‑scale integrated security systems
• Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $42,340 - $72,583 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
