Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Lenexa, KS is hiring Security System Technicians to install, program, start-up and commission state-of-the-art integrated security systems, including CCTV/IP cameras, alarm sensors, access control, and software platforms for customers in the greater Kansas City area.

You will work with a team, assist commissioning, testing, plan work with mentors, and complete commissioning within timelines, documenting details.

Qualifications

• Minimum electro-mechanical experience or education in related field.
• Ability to understand network components and Windows/Server OS management.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for Siemens fleet vehicle program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commissioning of new security systems on customer sites and document commissioning details.
• Assist with testing and inspecting existing security systems.
• Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader.
• Complete commissioning within planned timelines.
• Submit accurate time and expense logs.
• Work overtime when needed.

Security System Technicians

play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art integrated security systems, including cctv or ip cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. Our Security System Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

As aSecurity System Technician, you will:

• Assistwith the commissioning of new security systems on customer sites documenting commissioning details
• Assistwith testing and inspecting of existing security systems
• Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader
• Complete commissioning within planned timelines
• Submitaccuratetime and expense logs
• Work overtime when needed

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Electro-mechanicalexperience(either fromapreviousrole or througheducation) and user PC/software skill
• Must be able todemonstratean understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management
• Must bewillingandable to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment,working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 poundsunassisted
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED;Associatedegree in electronics or related field preferred
• 6+monthsexperience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
• Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $42,340 - $72,583 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
