Job summary

Harvard Protection Services in New Jersey seeks a Security Officer to provide professional customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property. You will maintain a visible presence, monitor for suspicious activity, greet visitors, control access, participate in patrols, and prepare incident reports while upholding the company’s values of PEOPLE FIRST and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have security guard license or be able to obtain one.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and aid customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment for suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests in a professional manner.
• Answer all phones professionally.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Know and enforce facility policies and procedures.
• Perform required patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal.
• Follow emergency action planning and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
