Job summary

Harvard Protection Services, LLC. is seeking a Security Officer in New Jersey to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services.

The role involves maintaining a professional demeanor, patrolling the facility, monitoring activity, and enforcing site policies to protect people and property. The position requires security licenses, a high school diploma or equivalent, reliable transportation, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold state or municipal security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within a reasonable period.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat, professional appearance.
• Ability to write routine correspondence, logs and incident reports.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible security presence in the facility.
• Monitor environment to detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Greet customers and visitors professionally.
• Answer phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within role limits.
• Perform patrols by foot or vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper property removal.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
