Position Overview

This individual is responsible for instructing and training new security monitors, scheduling and assigning them to designated posts, and touring the facility to ensure the safety of personnel and residents.

Salary

$42,000 - $46,000

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct staff, visitors, and clients to designated areas.
• Answer questions and provide directions related to services.
• Maintain security logs of personnel and visitor movements and unusual occurrences.
• Supervise security staff and coordinate coverage with the Director of Homeless Services Program.
• Train new security staff on procedures, logs, mail system, deliveries, fire safety, etc.
• Schedule and assign security staff to ensure safety and security.
• Perform additional functions as assigned by the Director.
• Conduct fire drills and maintain related logs.
• Inspect alarm systems daily.
• Complete incident reports as required by URI and DHS.
• Work flexible shifts, including doubles.
• Participate in staff meetings and training.
• Meet with the Assistant Director for supervision and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience as a security officer.
• Experience with homeless populations and diverse communities, including LGBTQ+ and individuals with mental health or substance issues.
• Experience working in a 24-hour residential facility and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
