Job summary

The Obama Presidential Center in Chicago is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead daily security operations, oversee staff, and manage safety procedures and emergency responses. You will supervise shifts, coordinate with Visitors Experience staff, and maintain a visible, welcoming presence across the Center.

Minimum 2+ years security experience with supervisory responsibility, a valid security license, and strong leadership and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of security experience; 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
• Valid security guard license or state certifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; onsite work in Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security and safety in all spaces at the Obama Presidential Center, including Museum, Forum, Library and grounds.
• Oversee security personnel, train and evaluate staff; create shift schedules for coverage.
• Oversee security operations center and security tech to protect visitors, staff and property.
• Greet and screen visitors; provide information and directions.
• Lead safety training for Center personnel; participate in drills and certification processes.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and other agencies; respond to incidents.
