Job summary

Erickson Senior Living seeks an experienced Supervisor of Security and Emergency Services for Greenspring Village in Springfield, VA. You will lead a dedicated security team, oversee access control, and coordinate safety initiatives to protect residents and staff.

Responsibilities include incident reporting, shift supervision, training, and performance coaching. Must have public safety supervisory experience, emergency responder background, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in public safety supervisory (Fire/EMS/Law Enforcement) or similar supervisory role.
• Minimum 1 year in an Emergency Responder role.
• Current valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security of the Greenspring community through gatehouse, patrols, access control, visitor/contractor registration, and key management.
• Monitor safety programs including inspections, incident responses, hazard communication, and respirator fit testing.
• Collaborate with the SES Manager to update Emergency Preparedness Plans.

As the Supervisor of Security and Emergency Services, you'll lead a dedicated team responsible for protecting our residents and promoting a culture of safety throughout our gated retirement community. From training and compliance oversight to investigations and emergency response planning, you'll play a key role in enhancing the resident experience and supporting a thriving community.

• Compensation: $31.00 - $33.00 per hour, based on experience

How You Will Make An Impact

• Responsible for the security of the community through the use of gatehouse, patrols, access control, visitor/contractor registration, key management, and other programs
• Monitor safety programs to include; Security Department safety inspections, responses to workplace accidents, hazard communication programs, respiratory mask fit testing programs, and others as needed
• Partner with SES Manager to update and maintain the Emergency Preparedness Plans
• Ensure completion of Incident Reports, daily shift reports and responds to calls for service
• Assist in hiring, training, coaching, counseling of employees
• Establish schedules, reviews and approves timesheets, completes performance evaluations
• Provide daily leadership, supervision, motivation, and communication to direct and indirect reports

What You Will Need

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in public safety supervisory (Fire/EMS/Law Enforcement) or comparable supervisory experience
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an Emergency Responder role
• Current valid driver’s license
