Overview

Coordinates the daily operations of the Safety, Security, & Parking department, including scheduling, counseling, and disciplining personnel, while ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED required. An associate or bachelor's degree in law enforcement or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.

Must obtain the following certifications within specified timeframes:

  • Heart Saver CPR certification (within 90 days)
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), OCAT/PATH, Defensive Driving NSC Defensive Driving Instructor, CHSP, or Taser Instructor (within 18 months)
  • HR Management Series completion (within 12 months)
  • IAHSS Membership (within 12 months)
  • IAHSS Basic, Advanced, and Supervisor credentials (within 12 months)

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in security, parking, or customer service operations, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential, with the ability to enforce policies assertively yet courteously. Basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets, are required.
