  • Assist the Security Manager with team training and daily operational duties, ensuring all team members are well-prepared and knowledgeable about their roles.
  • Actively participate in the interview process for Security Team member candidates, providing input and recommendations to ensure the selection of qualified individuals.
  • Responds promptly to priority calls, maintaining supervision and command of the scene until relieved by other personnel, ensuring safety and security.
  • Enforce internal and external guidelines, including hospital policies, rules, and regulations; provide directions and information throughout the hospital and assist with resolving security issues.

Summary

The Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team of security personnel during their assigned shifts. This role encompasses overseeing all specific duties assigned to security team members, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively. The Supervisor is also tasked with fostering positive working relationships with employees of Children's Health System of Texas, various agencies, and the public. This position requires the ability to communicate and implement procedures professionally and effectively

Responsibilities

Work Experience
  • At least 3 years Previous experience in one or more of the following fields is required: security, law enforcement, military service, healthcare, or education. Experience should demonstrate skills in safety enforcement, crisis management, incident response, or maintaining a secure environment required
  • At least 2 years At least 2 years preferred in an assistant supervisory related role or equivalent years of Supervisory duties (i.e. Customer service, healthcare, hospitality, security, law enforcement or military.) preferred
EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements Field Training Officer course #3702 within 180 days required
  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field preferred preferred
  • Texas Commission on Law Enforcement New Supervisor (First-Time) Course #3737 within 60 days preferred
  • Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements Front Line Supervisor #3737 within 180 days preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid, current Texas Department of Public Safety Driver's License Upon Hire required
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements 60 Days, required
  • Texas Department of Public Safety – Texas Private Security Bureau Registration - Non Commissioned Security Officer Level 2 or Commissioned Security Officer Level 3 certification 180 Days required
  • Basic Level Certification (CHSO) obtained through International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety organization. 180 Days required
  • Supervisor Level Certification (CHSS) obtained through International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety organization. 180 Days required
