Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Security Officer for the Texas Health Dallas campus to patrol after hours, escort staff and visitors, deter unauthorized entry, and enforce campus policies.

This full-time role on the Public Safety team requires a high school diploma, healthcare security experience, valid driver's license and relevant certifications, with weekend availability and night shifts.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • 2+ years security or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • 2+ years healthcare security preferred.
  • Driver’s license class C and insurable required.
  • NCSO - Level 2 within 120 days; Level 3 within 120 days if applicable.
  • CSO - Level 3 within 120 days.
  • TASER certification within 120 days (two attempts allowed) and annual recertification.
  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 30 days.
  • Must pass a psychological evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols buildings and grounds for unlocked secured areas after hours.
  • Provide escorts to parking areas for individuals.
  • Identify and remove unauthorized persons from property.
  • Enforce campus parking policies and citations.
  • Maintain compliance with security policies.
  • Pursue and detain individuals involved in criminal activity.
  • Complete incident/offense reports and write narratives.
  • Give directions to areas of the facility.
  • Interact with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Provide vehicle assistance and support emergency responders as required.

Work hours: Full-Time, 40 hours/week – 10:00pm-6:30am.

Must be available to work weekends.

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required and
  • Associate's Degree Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field preferred
  • 2 years security or law enforcement preferred
  • 2 years healthcare security preferred
  • Driver’s License Class C and Insurable is required and
  • NCSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 2 (not required if have level 3) within 120 days of hire required
  • CSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas level 3 within 120 days of hire required and
  • TASER Certification within 120 days of hire required (Two attempts permitted within sixty days) and Annual recertification is required and

  • Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation.
What You Will Do
  • Patrols buildings and ground for unlocked secured areas for after hour entry.
  • Provides individual and group escorts to and from parking areas.
  • Identifies and removes unauthorized individuals from property.
  • Enforces campus parking policies/cite violations.
  • Maintains compliance with Security policies.
  • Pursues and detains persons involved in criminal activity.
  • Fills out incident/offense report forms and composes narratives.
  • Gives directions to areas of facility.
  • Interacts with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Provides vehicle assistance.
  • Interacts with and aids Police, Fire, EMS and other emergency staff as require.
