Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help keep guests, team members and the brand safe in a fast-paced retail environment. You will greet guests, promote security culture, respond to incidents, and document events using case management systems and surveillance tools.

Qualified applicants are at least 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent, capable of lifting up to 40 pounds, and able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local requirements related to the position.

• Ability to use frequency devices and handheld scanners.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests at the front of store.
• Promote a physical security culture by maintaining safe standards storewide.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Address guest issues to provide a safe environment for all.
• Use de-escalation tactics during incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and support theft apprehension.
• Prevent theft by receipt checks and trend communication.
• Document incidents in the case management system per AP policy.
• Operate Target's video surveillance system as required.
• Demonstrate ethics, safety, and compliance.
• Work safely and adhere to safety policies and trainings.
