Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to help ensure a safe and welcoming shopping environment. The role focuses on guest assistance, incident response, and loss prevention while collaborating with store teams.

The position requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to operate handheld scanners and other tech. It offers flexible shifts and opportunities to grow within Assets Protection.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment.
Effective communication skills.
Work both independently and with a team.
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
Capable of remaining focused and completing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests and resolving issues.
Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner using case management systems.
Use de-escalation tactics and maintain a safe, secure environment.
Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed.
Prevent theft by checks and communicate trends to AP.
Understand and operate Target's video surveillance system.
Work safely and comply with all safety policies and training.
Other duties as assigned based on business needs.
