Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members, and assets. You will engage with customers, search for security threats, and support store operations with a calm, ethical approach.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, use of surveillance and incident documentation, and collaboration with leadership and safety officials. Flexible hours and safety training are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other tech equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capable of remaining focused in a fast-paced environment and completing multiple tasks within set timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting guests and helping them find what they need.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards throughout the store.
• Respond to and accurately document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Leverage de-escalation tactics and resources when responding to security incidents.
• Carry out theft prevention and recovery duties while following AP policies.
• Submit documentation in the case management system for incidents.
