Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture is seeking a hands-on Security Solution Architect who designs end-to-end security architectures for major products, reading code and IaC, mapping data flows, and defining cryptography, identity, and trust boundaries.

You will lead architecture reviews, produce ADRs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance security controls with product needs while delivering secure, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hands-on security architecture or engineering with demonstrable design work.
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into technical controls (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Ability to read source code and IaC, understand microservice data flows and trust boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Author Compliance-by-Design architectures: translate policy requirements into concrete, buildable designs with trust boundaries, data flows, and authentication schemes.
• Reverse-Engineer real systems by reading code, IaC, and API contracts to map topology and data flows and pinpoint controls.
• Threat model and prove out designs: produce STRIDE/attack-tree models tied to real architecture and validate through prototyping or testing.
• Lead deep technical design reviews: challenge API contracts, key lifecycles, segmentation, and data handling; produce ADRs and reference architectures.
• Be the front door and calibrate good enough: intake point for product teams, negotiate pragmatic security controls with cross-functional teams.
• Documentation and audit readiness: maintain architecture docs and evidence artifacts traceable to requirements.
