Verkada is seeking software engineering interns to join our Backend Engineering team in San Mateo, CA. You’ll work across the full software stack in a startup culture, building scalable systems used by customers worldwide.

The role focuses on distributed systems, Python or Go, and modern infrastructure like Terraform and Kubernetes, with on-site collaboration and visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a CS degree with graduation by June 2028.
• Prior internship experience developing and launching products.
• Familiar with Python or Golang, distributed systems, AWS, Docker.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable distributed systems for high-traffic deployments.
• Work with Redis and DynamoDB for high-concurrency storage.
• Work with Postgres databases.
• Deploy services using Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Develop microservices with Python and/or Go.
• Design clean APIs.
