Verkada Inc. in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Backend Software Engineering Intern for 2027 to work across the full software stack, building scalable backend services and contributing to distributed systems that serve hundreds of thousands of devices worldwide.

On-site at Verkada HQ, you will use Python and Go to design APIs, work with Redis, DynamoDB, Postgres, Kafka, SQS, and deploy via Terraform and Kubernetes, while gaining mentorship and exposure to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS/MS in CS with expected graduation by 2028.
• Experience interning or launching products.
• Familiar with Python or Go.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable distributed systems handling traffic from devices.
• Work with Redis and DynamoDB.
• Work with Postgres.
• Use Kafka and SQS for logging and messaging.
• Deploy services via Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Develop large-scale systems to configure products remotely.
• Define low-latency, high-throughput microservices.
• Design APIs in Python and/or Go.
