Additional Information About the Role

BJC is hiring for a Security Software Configuration II Engineer. This is a remote position, but candidates must be located in MO or IL.

We seek a security-minded individual capable of thinking outside the box. The engineering team develops tools for protection and investigations across the organization, supporting teams such as SIRT, TVM, and GRC. The team includes a Level 1 support team for daily operations and provides guidance on best practices and secure configurations. Projects are ongoing, and the team advises on various security matters. We require broad IT experience; no specific certifications are mandatory at hiring.

Role Purpose

The Security Software Configuration - Engineer II is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining a secure application infrastructure aligned with business needs. The role involves supporting operational innovation, providing security guidance, and ensuring resilient application delivery. Knowledge of architecture, engineering, and design principles, along with troubleshooting skills, are essential. Certifications such as Epic or equivalent are required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in security projects to evaluate and enhance existing security infrastructure, delivering on time and within budget while meeting SLAs.
• Assist with incident response and system stability, including after-hours support as needed.
• Implement solutions compliant with HIPAA, GLBA, PCI, SOX, and privacy laws.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, perform business impact analyses, and recommend mitigations.
• Design and review security controls, investigate security incidents, and support incident management.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2-5 years.

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience: 10+ years.
• Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Healthcare Information Security, and Info Systems Manager.
