Additional Information About the Role

BJC is hiring for a Security Software Configuration II Engineer. This is a remote position, primarily for candidates in MO or IL.

We seek a security-minded individual capable of innovative thinking. The engineering team develops tools for protection and investigations used by SIRT, TVM, and GRC teams. There is a Level 1 team supporting day-to-day operations for the L2 Engineering team, along with other teams to promote best practices and secure configurations. The team manages multiple projects, problem-solving across systems, and advising on security matters. Broad IT experience is preferred. No specific licensure or certification is required at hiring.

Role Purpose

The Security Software Configuration - Engineer II is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining a secure application infrastructure aligned with business needs. The role supports operational innovation and security improvements, delivering resilient applications at scale. Knowledge of architecture, engineering, design principles, and experience with various applications and data systems are essential. Certifications like Epic or equivalent are required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in security projects, evaluate infrastructure, and implement changes per security leadership directives.
• Assist with incident response and system stability issues, including outside regular hours.
• Ensure solutions comply with HIPAA, GLBA, PCI, SOX, and privacy laws.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, business impact analyses, and design mitigation strategies.
• Create reports, explain security controls, and support incident management and recovery.
