Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Guard Shift Supervisor for ARL on the Pickle Research Campus. You will supervise shift personnel, manage access control, respond to alarms, and coordinate with ARL security leadership to protect personnel, facilities and sensitive information.

This full-time on-site role requires HS/GED, three years guarding experience, strong communication and detail orientation. Regular weekend/evening shifts may apply; training and log documentation are part of daily

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• At least three years of guard or security experience.
• Demonstrate effective communication and grammar skills.
• Ability to communicate information verbally in a report format.
• Attention to detail and timely, accurate work.
• Flexibility to work varied shift assignments.
• Ability to use common office equipment.
• Must be able to walk up and down stairs for security checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift personnel and ensure security coverage.
• Manage access control, badge checks, and visitor screening.
• Respond to alarms and monitor safety hazards.
• Document logs and communicate ARL:UT security status.
• Coordinate with Guard Force Manager and LTTS guards as needed.
• Assist with scheduling and training records; complete time sheets.
