Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate.
• Must have two years of experience in corrections, law enforcement, criminal justice, or related fields.
• Substitutions allowed: Associate's degree substitutes six months; Bachelor's substitutes one year.
• Must be twenty-one years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
• For DJJ, completion of the DJJ Training Academy within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Correctional Officers and Correctional Sergeants; maintains performance documentation and prepares timesheets for Sergeants.
• Acts as shift supervisor; coordinates staffing, roll calls, emergency operations, and transport of patients.
• Responds to emergencies and addresses staff and patient issues.
• Manages on-the-job training; interprets policy; conducts training and participates in security interviews.
• Assists Captain and completes incident reports and maintenance reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
