• Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customer sites.

Job description

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking a skilled Security Service Technician to support a U.S. Marshals Service security systems program in the Tyler, TX area. This role is ideal for an experienced electronic security professional with a strong background in servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining integrated security systems in mission-critical environments.

Position: Security Service Technician

Pay: $35.57 /hr

Location: Tyler, TX

Openings: 1

Travel: Regional travel required

Schedule: May include nights, weekends, federal holidays, and after-hours emergency callouts as needed

Position Summary

The Security Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and upgrade of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) supporting U.S. Marshals Service facilities throughout the assigned region. The technician will work independently in the field, responding to service calls, performing preventive maintenance, supporting emergency repairs, and documenting all work performed.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, repair, calibrate, modify, and maintain electronic security systems.
• Perform break-fix service and preventive maintenance on:
  • Physical Access Control Systems (PACS)
  • Video Surveillance Systems (VSS/CCTV)
  • Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
  • Intercom systems
  • Security consoles
  • Door hardware and locking devices
  • Detention locks and controllers
  • Turnstiles
  • Power supplies and supporting infrastructure
  • Low-voltage cabling systems
  • Life-safety devices
• Complete software and firmware upgrades on security equipment as required.
• Support emergency service calls and urgent troubleshooting activities.
• Assist with system installations, upgrades, replacements, and site assessments.
• Maintain accurate service tickets, reports, inventory records, maintenance documentation, and field logs.
• Update equipment information and service records within electronic work management systems.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and aerial lifts safely and effectively.
• Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customer sites.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing electronic security systems.
• Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Access Control Systems
  • Video Surveillance/CCTV Systems
  • Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Intercom Systems
  • Low-Voltage Cabling
  • Electronic Door Hardware
  • Security Monitoring Systems
  • Life-Safety Systems
  • Detention Security Systems
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency using electronic service management platforms, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including climbing ladders, operating lifts, working at heights, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) background determination.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with current manufacturer certifications are highly preferred, including:

• Commend Core Level Certification
• Radionix (Bosch) G Series Certification
• IQ Sight (Bosch BVMS) Certification
• Hirsch Velocity Certification

Candidates who do not currently possess all preferred certifications may still be considered and may have opportunities to obtain certification following hire.
