Responsible for designing, installing, and servicing the software and hardware for integrated applications following governing codes and standards. Design, install, and service various types of communication applications, including wireless and LAN/WAN-based security, fire, video surveillance, and access control solutions, in compliance with governing codes and standards. Complete system and network programming as required. Troubleshoot damaged equipment or wiring, readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment, and test for proper operation. Maintain positive communication between Tyco IS and customers to ensure high professionalism and customer satisfaction. Coordinate testing and final acceptance of systems with customers and authorities as needed. Ensure proper application of system products to meet customer requirements. Responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and support of data/video communication networks, including wireless and IP solutions. Develop and provide training and technical support tools for users with varying levels of IT, Security, and Fire knowledge. Document security, fire, and network configurations, diagrams, and programming records accurately, including diagrams, IP schemes, and asset management. Qualifications include an Associate Degree or equivalent work experience (preferred), High School Diploma (required), various manufacturer certifications, state and local certifications, experience with Security, Fire, and enterprise access control systems, CCTV, IP video systems, wireless, and LAN/WAN network engineering with Cisco products. Strong knowledge of Cisco switches, routers, IOS, diagnostics, IP Backbone Architecture, TCP/IP, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently or in teams, interpret blueprints and electrical schematics, and travel as needed. Background checks and availability for after-hours support required. Preferred qualifications include Project Management certifications, Cisco CCNA or higher, NICET Fire Level 1-3, NICET Access Control and CCTV, technical school or industry training, and apprenticeship programs.
