Job description

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Field Service Technician I to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

As a Window and Door Field Service Technician I at JELD-WEN, you will be a key member of the Site Service & Warranty Team. You will be responsible for performing service work on various products and accurately inspect JELD-WEN window and door products to find the root cause of the service issue. You will report directly to the Field Service Manager.

This is a remote role, and candidate must reside within a 25-mile radius from Charlotte, NC.

What You Will Do

  1. Complete daily assigned warranty field service tasks, while taking quality photos and producing accurate and complete reporting of product and construction issues.
  2. Maintain tools and service vehicle in proper and safe working order.
  3. Operate a company service vehicle in a safe and considerate manner.
  4. Become familiar with all JELD-WEN products in your coverage region.
  5. Follow JELD-WEN policies and procedures while operating safely, professionally, and efficiently.

Who You Are

  1. Weekly travel with some overnight and overtime is a requirement in this position, along with flexible working hours.
  2. High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license as well as a clean driving record.
  4. 5 years field service technician experience (or experience in the same or similar industry is a plus.)
  5. Must have carpentry skills; be able to use hand and power tools and measuring devices.
  6. The ability to lift 50-75 lbs.; climb, lift, pull; and safely perform tasks on a ladder, scaffolding, or other raised devices.
  7. Knowledge of window and door installation and repair practices.

  1. Previous experience in construction or similar environment is preferred.
  2. Be dependable, self-motivated, can problem solve and contribute to building a positive team environment.
  3. Strong customer service skills, excellent communication, and organizational skills.

Expected pay for this role is between $19.76 to $32.88 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
