Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Security Technician to troubleshoot and service intrusion, IP CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems in Jacksonville, TX. You will inspect systems, generate reports, and repair equipment to restore full functionality.

The role requires strong customer service and the ability to coordinate with authorities and other agencies. A valid driver’s license and knowledge of major security platforms are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in low-voltage or security industry.
• Excellent knowledge of major security platforms (Bosch, Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, Kantech, Exacq).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Preference for ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.

What you will do

A Johnson Controls Security Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert who possesses knowledge and experience with intrusion, IP CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers. You will use strong verbal communication skills to identify customer needs, inform them of next steps and processes, and repair the system to return full functionality. You will inspect the systems to ensure proper operation and provide written or digital reports to customers and company as required. Your goal is to deliver the highest level of service, solving building inefficiencies and resolving service‑related items, acting as a trusted advisor to customers and delivering solutions at the time of service.

How you will do it

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust, repair, replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
• Perform repair and/or inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control systems, and fire alarms (if applicable).
• Assist fellow service technicians with system repairs and complete minor repairs, including battery replacement.
• Test operation of the system with the customer monitoring center to establish service connectivity.
• Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as required.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

• 5 years in low‑voltage or security industry.
• Excellent general knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms including Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, Kantech, Exacq, and others.
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.
• Preferred: Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to unload ladder from fleet vehicle and climb ladder.
• Ability to always operate fleet vehicle safely.
• Excellent customer service communication skills.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE

$24‑33 per hour, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and alignment with market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
