Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to support a collaborative, guest-obsessed team and help create a safe shopping experience. You will welcome guests and teammates, deter theft, and document incidents while upholding AP policies and procedures.

The role emphasizes effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment. Training is provided, with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Meet state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members.
• Learn and adapt to current technology needs; effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team; manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage guests and team members at the front of store and on the sales floor; help guests find products in-store and online.
• Lead a physical security culture by maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
• Respond to and document security incidents; escalate guest issues using appropriate tools.
• Conduct merchandise protection activities and provide apprehension support as needed in accordance with AP policies.
• Prevent theft and shortage by performing receipt checks for exposed high-dollar merchandise and document incidents.
