Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members and the brand while ensuring a safe shopping environment. The role involves crisis response, de-escalation, and documenting incidents using Target's case management system.

Training is provided, with emphasis on safety and compliance. You’ll work in a fast-paced store setting, supporting loss prevention and security initiatives, with flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet state/local licensure and/or legal requirements
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate scanners and other tech equipment
• Effective communication skills
• Work independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Remain focused in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting guests and assisting with needs
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience
• End every guest interaction with a sincere thank you
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude
• Promote a safety culture and maintain secure standards storewide
• Document security incidents accurately in the case management system
• Respond to guest issues to provide a safe environment
• Use de-escalation tactics and resources for security incidents
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support
• Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and shortages
• Follow AP policies and document incidents in the system
• Understand and use Target's video surveillance system
• Adhere to safety policies, training, and compliance
