Vanguard is offering a paid 10-week Risk & Security Engineer internship under its College to Corporate (C2C) program in Wisconsin. You will bridge software engineering and cybersecurity to design secure, reliable systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on project work, mentorship, and skill development within Agile teams. Ideal candidates are pursuing CS/Cybersecurity/IT degrees with a security mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and good collaboration and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS, cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• Interest in software engineering with a focus on security.
• Familiarity with programming concepts and secure coding practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• GPA 3.2 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of secure applications and systems across Vanguard's technology environment.
• Contribute to security controls and best practices in software and platforms.
• Identify and address vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure.
• Build tools, scripts, or processes to improve security and automation.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and platform teams to deliver secure solutions.
• Work in Agile teams contributing to design, development, and testing.
