Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented professional to join the Security Services Office. This on-site role supports safeguarding personnel, facilities, materials, and information in a fast-paced government-contract environment.

You will manage document control, assist with inventory and inspections, review controlled items, and help ensure compliance with DoD requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying, marking, and storing classified documents and hardware.
• Handling and safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance.
• High attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, databases, and web applications.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide agile and efficient document control support and customer service to all organizational groups and personnel in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment
• Assist with projects involving the tracking and accountability of controlled material
• Assist with periodic inventories and inspections
• Review controlled items for proper inventory numbers and other required markings
• Prepare a wide variety of controlled material such as documents, hard drives, circuit boards, microchips, and other hardware to be sent to approved destruction facilities
• Conduct records searches which include verification, scanning, and/or filing of physical and electronic records
• Identify, improve, and implement processes to better safeguard and account for controlled material to ensure compliance with government regulations
