Eckerd Connects in Washington, DC is seeking a Security & Protective Services Instructor to deliver the Job Corps curriculum in a regular classroom, promoting motivation and learning while upholding program standards.

The role tailors the curriculum to students' vocational goals, counsels on behavior and study habits, prepares documentation, and collaborates with the BCL-WBL Coordinator to support School-to-Career and Work-Based Learning.

Qualifications

• Certified or licensed in the state where the center is located.
• CPR Instructor Certification preferred; 20 hours of unarmed security instructor training preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen per policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Instructs in the Security & Protective Services curriculum in accordance with Job Corps requirements.
• Promotes a positive classroom atmosphere to maximize motivation and learning.
• Counsels students on behavior, study habits, and training progress.
• Individualizes curriculum to fit students' vocation choices and coordinates with counselors.
• Prepares reports on hours, requisitions, and monthly evaluations.
• Collaborates with BCL-WBL Coordinator to implement School-to-Career and Work-Based Learning initiatives.
• Meets monthly with Career Counselors and trainees to review evaluations.
