Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build scalable security platform features and microservices across Java, Go, and JavaScript/Node.

You will employ AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, triage vulnerabilities, and ensure memory-safe, production-ready code in distributed Linux and cloud environments. The role emphasizes collaboration with security architects and product teams, agile planning, and a strong focus on operational excellence and security

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience building scalable applications or platform services.
• Primary proficiency in Java; experience in Go and/or JavaScript/Node.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation, testing, or debugging.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, distributed systems, UNIX/Linux environments, and web service APIs.

Responsibilities

• Ideate, design, and build scalable security platform features and microservices in Java, Go, and JavaScript/Node.
• Leverage AI development tools to accelerate code implementation and testing, and refactor security infrastructure.
• Apply AI-driven diagnostics and automated analysis to triage vulnerabilities and automate maintenance.
• Ensure code outputs meet Yahoo security standards, performance benchmarks, and memory safety.
• Deliver production-ready code with minimum guidance and participate in reviews and agile planning.
• Troubleshoot failures across distributed Linux and cloud environments (AWS/GCP) and perform root-cause analyses.
• Identify automation opportunities to scale platform operations with AI-assisted workflows.
• Collaborate with security architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into solutions.
