Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and operate scalable security platform features and microservices in Java, Go, and JavaScript/Node. You will work across distributed Linux and cloud environments (AWS/GCP) to harden defenses and enable resilient products.

You will participate in code reviews, apply AI-assisted tooling, and ensure memory safety and performance benchmarks while collaborating with security architects and product managers.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience building scalable applications or platform services.
• Primary proficiency in Java with secondary experience in Go and/or JavaScript/Node.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software work.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, APIs, and UNIX/Linux.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP and relational databases.
• Knowledge of security concepts, open-source vulnerability remediation, and performance/memory safety.
• Commitment to operational excellence, software quality, and security engineering in an Agile squad.

Responsibilities

• Ideate, design and build scalable security platform features and microservices in Java, Go, and JavaScript/Node.
• Leverage AI development tools to accelerate code, and write tests with security focus.
• Apply AI-driven diagnostics to triage vulnerabilities and streamline maintenance.
• Evaluate AI-generated code outputs to meet Yahoo security standards and performance benchmarks.
• Deliver production-ready code and participate in code reviews and agile planning.
• Troubleshoot issues across distributed Linux and cloud environments (AWS/GCP) and perform root-cause analyses.
• Identify automation opportunities and scale platform operations with AI-assisted workflows.
• Collaborate with security architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams to implement secure solutions.
