Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol in Santa Barbara, CA to safeguard clients across utilities and other sites. You will monitor areas, perform routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and support access control while delivering outstanding customer service.

This full-time, unarmed role offers daytime/night shifts as listed, with the pay rate of $21.25 per hour. You will report observations, respond to incidents, and participate in site-specific procedures and emergency

Qualifications

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking locations, and critical infrastructure access points to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify credentials, maintain required logs, and report suspicious conditions or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and communications accurately and complete required reports in a timely manner.
