Job summary

Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company is seeking a Part-Time Security Team Member to help protect guests, team members, assets, and venues across the Hershey Entertainment Complex. You will perform high‑visibility patrols, respond to alarms and incidents, document reports, and coordinate with departments to maintain safe operations.

Candidates must be 18+, have a valid driver's license, and be willing to obtain RAMP certification. Flexibility for weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Safety & Security.
• Post-employment: must obtain RAMP Certification.
• Criminal justice/safety training and experience preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stress.

Security Patrol is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R), its properties, its assets, its guests, and team members across all of HE&R’s venues, both on and off the HersheyparkEntertainment Complex. Additionally, Security Patrol conducts regular patrols and safety checks of HE&R venues, as well as responds to alarms, emergency calls, or other calls for assistance.

Job Functions:

• Provide a safe and friendly atmosphere to guests and team members
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with other departments and support teams
• Provide security for transporting money and financial documents
• Manage deployment of security personnel and equipment to provide effective and efficient operations during incidents
• Assess, investigate, resolve, and contain situations while taking appropriate actions based on company policy and procedures, as well as training
• Provide high-visibility patrols of buildings and grounds
• Control vehicle/pedestrian traffic when necessary
• Monitor guest behavior for compliance with event and venue policies
• Monitor crowd behavior and movement and take proactive measures to mitigate risk
• Communicate regularly with Security Management regarding training and operational issues including team member or guest concerns, losses, and unusual situations
• Create timely, thorough, and accurate incident reports through the incident documentation process
• Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to, use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting of unsafe situations

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age on the date of applying
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Minimum of at least three (3) years of experience working in the Safety & Security Department (professional experience may be considered in lieu of departmental experience)
• Post-employment: Must obtain RAMP Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Criminal justice/safety/security-related training and experience preferred
• Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other team members and be able to interact with guests
• Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times
• Must be detail-oriented and have clear verbal and written communication skills
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally, including delivering safety instructions/directions, verbal cues, and speaking clearly into microphones and radios
• Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company, and department training requirements
• Must have the ability to remain alert and vigilant at all times
• Must have the ability to handle stressful working conditions, emergencies, and accept a high degree of accountability
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications, including Excel and Word
• Must display a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

Job Demands:

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays - Team members must work a minimum of eight (8) hours every two pay periods in order to stay an active employee
• Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather.
• Physical requirements would include ability to stand and walk unassisted (for up to eight hours at a time), bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, the ability to raise the leg 37 inches, the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds without assistance
