Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to monitor, administer, and enhance the organization’s security monitoring and threat detection capabilities. The role supports SIEM, EDR/XDR, incident response, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity operations across enterprise environments.

The engineer will develop into a trusted technical resource capable of independently managing daily security operations and ensuring continuity for the organization’s cybersecurity functions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cybersecurity related experience.
• Experience with SIEM monitoring and incident response preferred.
• Familiarity with EDR/XDR technologies and threat detection.

Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM, EDR/XDR, and MDR platforms.
• Investigate alerts and suspicious activity; coordinate incident response.
• Lead and coordinate incident response activities; perform threat hunting.
• Improve detection rules and alert tuning; evaluate SIEM coverage.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation efforts.
• Assist with cloud security initiatives and documentation.
