Job Title: Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager

Location: Remote

Department: Delivery Team / MDR

Reports To: Director of Security Operations

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager to lead a dedicated team (pod) focused on our commercial client portfolio. As the SOC Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day security operations, managing incident response efforts, and ensuring the protection of client assets, networks, and data. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of security analysts and in a 24/7/365 operational environment.
  • Incident Management: Oversee real-time monitoring, analysis, and response to security incidents and alerts across client environments.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as the primary security liaison for commercial clients, providing updates, reports, and recommendations.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure adherence to SLAs, operational playbooks, and incident response procedures tailored to client needs.
  • Threat Intelligence: Leverage threat intelligence feeds and services to identify and address risks specific to clients of your pod.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Produce regular reports on threat trends, SOC performance, and client-specific KPIs.
  • Tool Management: Oversee the use and optimization of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and other security technologies.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure client environments are monitored in line with relevant frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and industry best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve detection capabilities, analyst workflows, and response times.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team lead role.
  • Experience supporting clients in a managed services, MSSP, or MDR environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of security operations, incident response, threat hunting, and digital forensics.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, etc.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a client-first mindset.
