Job summary

Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation is seeking a Captain Public Safety to lead daily security operations for the Casino, Resort, and Reservation. You will evaluate risks and align with Tribe priorities, directing a large DPS team while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice or related field, 7+ years in security or law enforcement, and 5+ years of leadership. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Minimum seven (7) years of experience in progressive, relevant, or with a law enforcement or security agency.
• Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience.
• Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

Responsibilities

• Safeguards the Tribe, team members, guests, visitors and stakeholders while ensuring efficient use of workforce, equipment and resources.
• Plans, organizes, and leads daily operational aspects of all department functions and integrates with Intelligence division.
• Manages and tracks project plans for DPS Strategic Initiatives and provides project management support.
• Responds to emergency incidents as incident commander or liaison officer; provides on-call support as needed.
• Ensures compliance with brand standards, regulations, and tribal ordinances; conducts investigations into employee conduct.
• Develops and implements strategic priorities; improves policies and crisis management practices.
• Creates internal systems for tracking requests and data to improve operations and assess risks.
• Develops risk-based analytics to identify assets, threats and trends and recommends changes.
• Performs other duties to support department operations.
