Job summary

Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation seeks a Captain Public Safety to lead daily security operations for the Casino, Resort, and Reservation. The role focuses on risk evaluation, Tribe First alignment, and ensuring safety for Tribal Citizens, guests, vendors, and staff.

The incumbent will supervise a large DPS team, manage strategic initiatives, and coordinate with the Fire Marshal on events. A Bachelor’s degree is required with 7+ years of security and 5+ years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum seven (7) years of experience in security or law enforcement.
• Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience.
• Related experience may substitute education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily security operations for the Casino, Resort, and Reservation.
• Evaluate risks and align with Tribe First initiative.
• Ensure Department of Public Safety compliance with policies and procedures.
• Plan, organize, and oversee department functions and projects.
• Respond to incidents as incident commander or liaison officer.
• Develop strategic priorities and improve policies and crisis management.
• Create systems to track requests and data for improved operations.
• Identify security threats and adjust priorities based on analytics.
• Perform other duties to support DPS operations.
