Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Allied Universal may consider applicants with criminal histories as allowed by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site‑specific procedures and access‑control protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicle traffic.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and document observations.
• Support the movement of personnel and traffic during package handling and distribution operations, maintaining logs and reports.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol in Champaign, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTime Fri11:00 PM - 07:00 AM Sat11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution facility buildings, loading areas, parking areas, trailers, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicle traffic in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Support the orderly movement of personnel and commercial traffic during package handling and distribution operations while maintaining accurate activity logs and incident reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
