Responsibilities

• Monitor entry/exit points, verify authorized access, and maintain visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and responders.
• Communicate professionally with government personnel, visitors, and law enforcement.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Response in Springfield, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Job Schedule:DayTimeSun05:00 PM - 12:30 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions, hazards, or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public emergency responders as directed by established procedures.
• Communicate professionally with government personnel, visitors, and law enforcement while supporting a respectful and orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
