Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Warehouse in Detroit, MI to monitor access points, verify credentials, and provide excellent customer service at a technology, media, and telecom location.

You will conduct patrols, respond to incidents, and document access-related activities while supporting a welcoming, safe environment for employees and visitors. This is a full-time, hourly position with shift-specific responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue temporary access materials, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access control alarms, unauthorized entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry areas, lobbies, parking areas, and the business perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, documenting incidents, observations, and access-related activities in required reports.
