Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21 for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screening as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Job Description

As a Security Officer – Corporate Office Building in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast‑paced tech location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security‑related incidents. You will observe, document, and communicate concerns, support access points as needed, and deliver strong customer service to employees and visitors. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and staff by following Allied Universal security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout tech office areas, common spaces, and the building perimeter, noting irregular conditions and reporting maintenance and/or security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and interior areas, helping to deter unauthorized entry by observing visitor and badge activity and following site sign‑in and/or escalation procedures.
• Operate and observe security‑related systems such as cameras, alarms, and radios, and complete shift reports and incident reports according to post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
