Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license as per Allied Universal policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as a condition of employment.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by performing access-control procedures and adhering to site policies.
• Monitor and control access to site locations by verifying identifications and authorizations.
• Maintain access‑related logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and report unusual conditions.
• Respond calmly to incidents following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of designated access points and perimeter locations.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Driver Badge Administration in Joliet, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.57 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out access-control procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to chemical and petrochemical facility locations by verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor or contractor documentation in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain accurate access‑related logs, visitor records, and incident documentation, and report unusual conditions or unauthorized access attempts to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
