Allied Universal in Northport, NY is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide dependable security services at a utility site. You will support access control, respond to incidents, and maintain reports while working a fixed anchor shift with opportunities to pick up additional shifts.

Qualifications

As a Security Officer Utility Company Area Access Control in Northport, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate:

$19.57 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a utility location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of utility facilities, buildings, access points, equipment areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points and verify authorization for individuals and vehicles entering restricted operational areas in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established notification and escalation protocols.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and logs related to patrol activities, incidents, access issues, and other security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
