Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Electrical Company) in Northport, NY to perform access control, patrols, and incident response at a utilities location. You will verify credentials, log visitors, and maintain security procedures, while delivering excellent customer service and clear communication.

This role requires 18+ (unarmed) or 21+ (armed), a high school diploma, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• State, county, or city security license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screening required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a utilities location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of utility facilities, buildings, substations, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, or potential hazards.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report access-control concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services when required.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and daily activity logs, documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.

Pay Rate: $19.57 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Fri 02:00 PM - 06:00 PM
• Sat 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
