JOB SUMMARY: Interacts with Behavioral Patients to decrease the emotional, physical and mental stress levels of a situation using verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques and if necessary, utilizing Crisis Prevention Institute physical techniques to bring the aggressive Patient under control for further therapeutic clinical intervention.

Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Active BLS certification is required. Must be able to achieve Maryland State Police approval and obtain Maryland Security Guard Card within 90 days of hire. Current Maryland Security Guard Card preferred.
Work Orientation & Experience: One (1) year of related experience (Law Enforcement, Correctional Officer or Milieu experience) is required.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret security reports. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in a variety of situations. Must be able to interpret a range of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form. Must be able to work well under pressure during emergency situations. Must possess outstanding service excellence and behavioral de-escalation skills. Must be able to intervene with physically aggressive individuals.
