Job summary

Allied Universal in High Point, NC is seeking a part-time Security Officer – Unarmed Roving Patrol to protect retail locations and support store teams. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and respond to incidents with clear communication and customer service.

The role offers a flexible schedule, training opportunities, and access to our Shift-claim platform; pay is $15.00 per hour. Candidates should have at least 2 years security experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site staff and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols to deter theft and ensure safety.
• Monitor and document activity using radios, logs, and CCTV; complete incident reports.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to site staff and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious activity, medical events and/or fire alarms, and notify appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the store, entrances, parking areas and perimeter to help to deter theft, vandalism and/or unauthorized access.
• Monitor and document activity using assigned tools such as radios, report logs and CCTV when available, and complete incident reports in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines.
• Assist with access control and loss prevention support by observing for policy violations, coordinating with store leadership and/or law enforcement when needed, and helping to maintain orderly conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have a minimum of 2+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
